Good evening dear readers. How have you been? First of all, I want to apologize again for disappearing. I've been too busy and going out more than usual. But to make it up to you, today I'm bringing you a great story involving a French guy (yes, straight out of Emily in Paris), and now I promise I'll post much more often each month. So go make yourself a cup of coffee, because the gossip is too good to miss, and of course, afterwards I'll share some amazing outfit ideas with jeans for older women. In this post, you'll find everything.
Well, let me tell you. It all happened while my friend and I were waiting for the train in Paris to go to our next destination. We went into Five Guys to eat hamburgers. I stayed behind to watch the bags while my friend went to pick up the order. A little context: the place was almost empty and, as you know, I speak spanish.
Suddenly, someone tapped me gently on the back and said in English: "Are these seats free?" I turned around, understood perfectly, and replied: "Yes, it's free." And here comes the funny part, the guy with eyes that almost hypnotized me, said in spanish: "Wow, you're so Latina. Seriously, you look so Latina."
I was like, WTF? It made me laugh because he looked at me as if I were the eighth wonder of the world. But that wasn't the worst part. The worst part was that he was with his girlfriend. And how did I know she was his girlfriend? Because then he called her cherie, and according to my deep knowledge of Emily in Paris, cherie is a nickname used for girlfriends (or lovers).
But wait, there's more. He sat down in front of me and continued talking to me in his mix of Spanish and English. Until my friend told me not to talk to him because, obviously, his girlfriend was giving me dirty looks. I mean, I did want to keep talking to him because I was so curious and he was making such an effort to talk to me in his little bit of Spanish. But I also understood that his girlfriend was very uncomfortable, so I started to ignore him and pretended I didn't understand him so he would stop talking to me.
But that wasn't all. In the end, he insisted and offered me his hamburger. Obviously, I told him I didn't want it and that I was going to ask my friend if she wanted it. My friend, with a look on her face that said, "Let us go, please," said no. She told me again to ignore him and finally, I stopped responding to him. When we saw that the train was about to leave, we gathered our things and left.
And now that I've told you the gossip, let's get to what really inspires us every day: feeling good about ourselves and looking fabulous, regardless of age. If you also love jeans but sometimes don't know how to wear them in a modern and elegant way, here are some tips you'll love:
1. Go for cuts that flatter your figure
Not all jeans are the same. If you're looking for a flattering look, choose straight cuts. This style helps balance your proportions and visually lengthens your silhouette.
Tip: Avoid jeans that are too tight if you prefer comfort. A classic straight cut always looks sophisticated.
2. Pair them with elegant blouses or shirts
Jeans can become the perfect base for a chic look when paired with pretty blouses, linen shirts, or blazers. This contrast between casual and refined gives a very European and timeless air.
Tip: If your blouse is loose-fitting, tuck the front into your pants and leave the back loose. You'll look effortlessly put together and give it a youthful touch.
3. Don't underestimate the power of accessories
Good accessories make all the difference. A leather belt, a statement necklace, a scarf, or a leather bag elevate any look with jeans. Remember that details reflect your personality and add that special touch.
Tip: If your outfit is simple, choose a colorful accessory to be the center of attention.
So, I hope these tips inspire you to reinvent your outfits and encourage you to wear your jeans with confidence. If you want more ideas, tell me in the comments what styles you like or what clothes you would like us to combine in the next post!
